INCOMING STUDENTS INFO
If the home police college (police academy or faculty) has an Inter-institutional agreement with the University of Applied Sciences in Criminal Investigation and Public Security for international credit mobility, interested students need to be nominated by their home police college (please contact your coordinator). After nomination done by the home police college, you will receive instructions on application by e-mail. In order to be considered for mobility, you need to complete your Online Learning Agreement (OLA) in accordance with instructions provided by your home police college. After you have initiated your OLA, it needs to be approved by your home coordinator. When your OLA is approved by all parties (student, home institution, host institution), you will receive your acceptance letter and you can start planning your mobility.
AREAS OF STUDY
Students are allowed to enrol in study programmes offered by the University of Applied Sciences in Criminal Investigation and Public Security according to the Inter-institutional agreement with the partner HEI and respecting the specific requirements (like course prerequisites, etc.). Students will be able to participate in study programmes given in English (and Croatian).
TRAINEESHIP PROGRAMME
Foreign students police officers can spend a part of their studies at the University of Applied Sciences in Criminal Investigation and Public Security under the Erasmus+ traineeship programme. Traineeship can be undertaken at different police units in Croatia. Availability depends on the activities of certain police units and available time. Contact the University of Applied Sciences and propose the details of your traineeship. Upon positive feedback of responsible contact person, contact your home institution and inform them of your plans. Check for any important information or requirements at your home institution. Fill out Learning agreement for Traineeships and send it to the University of Applied Sciences for approval. Have the form signed by all parties (student, home and host institution). Also make sure to have full insurance for the whole duration of the traineeship (health, liability and accident). You can have traineeship in your police uniform.
HOUSING
Exchange students and students on traineeship programme coming to the University of Applied Sciences in Criminal Investigation and Public Security may choose between organized accommodation in student dorms or a private rental. The University of Applied Sciences does not guarantee student accommodation. Students who decide to seek accommodation in the student dorms need to apply for it. The housing request form is part of the application form for exchange students. The number of beds available for exchange students is limited. If any false statement has been made, accommodation request will not be accepted. List of selected students will be published.
Students that are not staying at student dorms will need to consider alternatives such as private rental accommodation. Rents vary greatly according to location, room size, facility etc. Overhead expenses are sometimes included in the price, and sometimes are paid by the tenant. Payment is usually expected at the beginning of the month, while some landlords request payment for several months in advance. The best way to do this is to search for different offers on other web-portals.
Student living expenses will vary according to individual needs and the ability to budget and manage finances. In particular if you want to travel a lot and take full advantage of the available cultural and social opportunities, expenses may be higher.
