The Police School "Josip Jović" conducts basic education for the profession of police officer in accordance with its Statute and regulations on secondary education. The basic education programme for the profession of police officer shall be adopted by the Minister with the consent of the Minister of Science, Education and Sports. Basic police education for the profession of police officer is considered to be regular secondary education through the 3rd and 4th grade of the Police School, secondary adult education for the profession of police officer and basic police course. Participants will be offered curricula of the topics related to police powers and their application, police weapons and shooting, criminology, misdemeanour law, criminal law, psychology, criminal prevention, ethics of the police profession, EU law and human rights, etc.) enable them to acquire and improve the knowledge, skills, behaviours and attitudes of an effective, professional police officer during their education. During the schooling, the participants are carefully designed to organize their lives and daily work, which includes additional extracurricular activities. An indispensable part of the Adult Secondary Education Program for the profession of police officer is institutionally prepared, organized and ultimately realized professional practice
