The Department for Coordination of Research and New Technologies was established on May 1, 2022, and with the latest amendments to the Regulation on the Internal Organization of the Ministry of the Interior on January 1, 2023, the Department’s job description and name were changed to the Department for Coordination and Implementation of Projects and Research:
- monitors tenders and calls for the implementation of projects financed by the European Union; prepares documentation and coordinates the application of these projects; participates in the implementation of these projects independently and in cooperation with other organizational units; prepares documentation and reports on the implementation of these projects
- cooperates with international partners, state bodies and institutions on the preparation and implementation of infrastructure and other projects; prepares documentation and reports on the implementation of these projects
- coordinates the implementation of professional and scientific research and projects; provides administrative assistance in the implementation of these research and projects to the organizational units of the Police Academy "First Croatian Police Officer"
- monitors the development and latest achievements in the field of new technologies and innovations and proposes their implementation into the work processes of the Ministry
- keeps records of all projects implemented within the Police Academy
- keeps records of professional and scientific research.
Respecting the job descriptions of the Department, the majority of work is focused on the preparation, application and implementation of projects funded by the European Union. Equally, the tasks are focused on the application and implementation of projects financed from other sources, on the conduct of scientific research and the organization of round tables.
